Kejriwal’s Statement On Yamuna Poisoning
Arvind Kejriwal stated on January 27, 2025, that the BJP government of Haryana has a hand in contaminating the waters of the Yamuna river. He noted that the pollution level at which the water is supplied to Delhi is beyond acceptable limits, and the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has now stopped the supply of this contaminated water to the city.
Kejriwal asserted: “The Haryana government has poisoned the water supply of Delhi, which has resulted in a water crisis in one-third of Delhi. The BJP government has put such poisons in the water supply that even water treatment plants cannot filter them. This is aimed at causing chaos in Delhi and blaming AAP for it.” In his statement, Kejriwal emphasized the comparison, describing the above incident as biological warfare like that of the United States during World War II.

Kejriwal’s Legal Issues in Haryana
A few days ago, on January 29, a Sonipat court had earlier notice on the same case against Kejriwal. This had been lodged by a Haryana Irrigation Department official in the Sonipat CJM Court. The court of Sonipat Chief Judicial Magistrate Neha Goyal issued a notice to Kejriwal to appear in person before this court on the next date of hearing on February 17, 2025, if he has to say anything in the matter.
Delhi Elections: Fight of the Titans
The timing of the allegation as an F.I.R. is sharp since voting happens in Delhi on February 5 and results are expected out by February 8. In total, 699 candidates are vying for 70 assembly seats in the national capital.
With AAP, BJP, and Congress, the campaign closed on the 3rd of February while all party heads go out into the public to engage more voters. The latest F.I.R. has certainly wielded the power to twist the recent events of the political show before elections.
The legal action against Arvind Kejriwal has intensified political tensions in the run-up to the Delhi elections. While AAP calls the FIR a political move by the BJP, the Haryana government maintains that Kejriwal’s remarks were misleading and inflammatory.
With voting on February 5th and results on February 8th, the political battles around Arvind Kejriwal are bound to be in the limelight for the next couple of days.
