CBSE Board Exams 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education Class 10 and 12 board exams commence today, February 15, 2025.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) begins its 2025 board examinations on Saturday, February 15, 2025. Over 42 lakh students are participating in the exams across 7,842 centers in India and 26 countries worldwide.

According to CBSE, 24,12,072 students are taking part in the Class 10 exam in 84 subjects, while 17,88,165 students are participating in the Class 12 exam in 120 subjects. This marks an increase of 3,14,695 students from last year’s 38,85,542 candidates.

Exam Schedule and Guidelines

On the first day of the CBSE Board Exams 2025, Class 10 students are taking the English (Communicative) and English (language & literature) papers, while Class 12 students are taking the Entrepreneurship paper. All candidates need to sit for the test between 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM.

Rules of Entry for Candidates for Students

The arriving students must report to the exam location prior to 10:00 AM, as entry after this time is not possible. Leaving the examination room is not available to students until 1:30 PM. Candidates for regular students are expected to present their ID card and school admit cards, while private students should have a government-approved ID card with a picture. Regular students are required to wear school uniforms, while light colored clothes are recommended for private students.

Forbidden Items in Exam Centers

The CBSE has strictly banned mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, smartwatches, earphones, and microphones in exam centers. Students are also not allowed to carry wallets, handbags, goggles, or pouches inside the examination hall.

Improved Security with CCTV Monitoring

To ensure fair and transparent exams, CBSE has installed CCTV surveillance in all exam centers. Each room has 24 students and two invigilators, while assistant superintendents are deployed to monitor CCTV footage for every 10 rooms. Schools that fail to produce CCTV footage upon request will be held responsible for malpractice.

Conclusion

CBSE has taken strict measures to ensure a smooth and fair examination process, including CCTV monitoring, live webcasts for officials, and clear exam guidelines. To support students, CBSE has provided sufficient gaps between major subjects, helping them manage their preparation effectively. With over 2 lakh assistant superintendents and more than 11 lakh evaluators deployed, the board is committed to conducting transparent, well-organized, and fair examinations.

As Class 10 exams continue until March 18 and Class 12 exams conclude on April 4, students are advised to follow all rules carefully and focus on their studies. The board’s efforts aim to create a stress-free and disciplined exam environment for all candidates.
