In addition, Jaiswal scored 16 runs in the first over of the 2nd innings in the 5th test , thus setting a record for the most runs by an Indian batter in the first over of a Test innings.

Concerns Over Bumrah

Stand-in skipper Jasprit Bumrah of India was off the field mid-day on Day 2 of the fifth Test against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Saturday, January 4. Meanwhile, he has walked back to the Indian dressing room after getting treatment. Scan reports about Bumrah’s injury are to be expected this evening.

Bumrah had bowled effectively in the first session, claiming the wicket of Marnus Labuschagne and surpassing Bishen Singh Bedi’s record of 31 wickets for the most wickets by an Indian bowler in a Test series in Australia.
