  • Feature Upgrades Position Chetak 35 Series as Market Leader
  • Range, Style, and Space: Introducing all-new Bajaj Chetak

Bajaj Auto has launched the all-new Chetak 35 series in India. The auto major has rekindled the iconic legacy of its “Hamara Bajaj” campaign with this new series. Priced starting at Rs 1.20 lakh, ex-showroom, the Chetak 35 series will be offered in three variants: 3501, 3502, and 3503. While the top spec Chetak 3501 will arrive for Rs 1.27 lakh, the base variant price will be announced later.

The new Chetak has a full make-over with a modern frame upgrade, the latest battery, state-of-the-art motor, and slick design. It has styled its heritage from the original Chetak. While contemporisizing, it has been given smoother indicators, the headlamp surround blacked out and elegant-looking LED tail-light.

The heritage of Chetak is from October 16, 2019, when Bajaj Auto unveiled its new electrical version of its Chetak scooter under the Urbanite EV brand. Production went live on September 25, 2019 from the Chakan plant at Bajaj Auto.

The key features of the top spec Chetak 3501 are a touchscreen TFT high-end display, smartphone connectivity, music control, maps integrated into it, and geo-fencing. The extended wheelbase scooters make room on the floorboards and increase an 80mm longer seat for greater comfort.

With its 4kW permanent magnet motor, and backed by a 3.5kW battery, the Chetak claims it would top out at as much as 153km on full charge. The battery occupied the floorboard storage; it lost 35 litres of that space but charged in only three hours from 0 to 80% using the car’s 950W onboard quick charger.

Bajaj Auto’s tagline “Hamara Bajaj,” which has been ringing since 1989, is still ringing and is very much a mile stone in India’s electric mobility with the Chetak 35 series.
