President Murmu presents colours to College of Defence

The President’s Colours were conferred upon the College of Defence Management in Secunderabad during a five-day visit of the President to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This grand function was held as an appreciation of the commendable services and achievements by this institute toward shaping the leadership of Indian defense forces.

President Murmu, while addressing said that technology is playing the transforming role in modern warfare and national security. “Advancements in technology have an intense impact on national security. Traditional definitions and approaches to warfare are being tested with emerging technologies and new strategic partnerships.” According to her, India has started working upon the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence, drones, cyber warfare capabilities, and space defense technologies toward efficiency and to be in global competition.

The President also saluted the College of Defence Management for its monumental efforts in building strategic and operational capacities of the Indian armed forces. In this process, the college is actually fulfilling a very important function to the nation’s defense preparedness by equipping the knowledge of military leaders who should be able to adapt to changing challenges.

India is enhancing its defense in a comprehensive manner by modernizing conventional forces while embracing innovations such as AI and space defense. It is in line with the vision of the nation to be at the forefront of global defense technologies.

President Murmu’s visit underscores the government’s commitment to fostering advancements in defence and strategic education, vital for safeguarding India’s sovereignty and interests.
