Shaktimaan Returns: Mukesh Khanna Brings India’s 1st Superhero

Indias first superhero hero, Shaktimaan is coming backconfirmed the actor Mukesh Khanna in his official post on his personal Twitter account @actmukeshkhanna.  The actor himself had brought the show on televisionplaying the role of the protagonistand visibly elated as he goes about doing the job of launching the character to the next generation. I am completing a job I undertook in 1997,” he reflected.

Shaktimaan is an Indian native hero which used to air  in  the  DD Nationala Hindi channel on 13 September 1997 to 27 March 2005. Millions of Indian children tuned for this show every week just to watch the story of and observe how has fought the facts, justice and morals values in his lifeThis Shaktimaan is not superpower gift hero but also a role model that inspires  innocence, bravery and integrity of small kids.

However, it had long ended, and Shaktimaan faded into the background of stardom. Almost two decades later, Mukesh Khanna brings him back on the screen, but will the youth of this age love him and cherish him like they did decades ago?

The question remains in how he will be in this generation and keep all those values which differentiated him from others. In a world filled with Marvel and DC superheroes,  how will Shaktimaan find his place in the hearts of Indians?

It is not an easy job for Mukesh Khanna. The expectations are high, and the competition is sharp. He needs to bridge the nostalgia of older fans and bring in a fresh appeal to the newer generation. Updating the storyline, modernizing the visuals, and making sure the message comes through to todaydigitally savvy children will be challenges in itself.

He remains Indiasuperhero in modern culture. His comeback is nothing less than the revival of legacy and because of Mukesh Khannadeclaration, excitement has reached an all-time high in social  media, and the fans await Shaktimaan to become the hero of a new generation.
