Telangana CM At WEF Davos 2025 Procured Funds Amounting To ₹1.78 Lakh Crore

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Achieved a Milestone at the WEF (World Economic Forum) in Davos

Revanth Reddy, Chief Minister of Telangana, has made headlines for attending the 2025 World Economic Forum held in Davos, where he successfully acquired an investment exceeding ₹1,78,950 crore (INR One Lakh Seventy Eight Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifty Crore), which is anticipated to yield 49,550 opportunities within the state. This will serve as a transformation milestone for the state of Telangana.

 
 

Job Creation in the IT Sector of Hyderabad

The IT industry in the state underwent massive development when these software behemoths declared expansion plans for Telangana. The following contributes to the net anticipated 49,550 job opportunities: Infosys: 17,000 employment opportunities from the increased Pocharam campus in Hyderabad. HCL: 5,000 new high-tier employment opportunities. Wipro: 5,000 new employment opportunities from innovative IT service and business hubs.

The reputation of Hyderabad as an IT center is attracting multinational technology companies more and more because of the efficient policies from the government and good infrastructure.

Largest Investments So Far

The Davos trip also came with other big investments from Amazon, Sun Petrochemicals, and Tillman global holdings. For example, Amazon announced an investment of over 60,000 crore in the construction of new data centers in Hyderabad. After this, the company’s Amazon Web Services (AWS) will develop cloud infrastructure worth $4.4 billion by 2030.

  • Sun Petrochemicals agreed to a deal of ₹45,500 crore to build pumped storage hydro projects and integrated solar power plants, providing 7,000 jobs.
  • Tillman Global Holdings gave an announcement on the ₹15,000 crore data center facilities investment.

Concentration On Data Centers and Green Energy

Telangana’s data center industry was one of the best performers in the Davos meetings. Sify, CtrlS, and URSA have expanded their services, and Amazon has set up operations, so now Hyderabad is the Data Centre Hub of India.

In the area of green energy, the pumped storage hydro projects from Sun Petrochemicals will help achieve renewable energy targets for Telangana. The state is now on course to be a leader in solar power, electric vehicles, and green manufacturing.

New Industries: Aerospace, UAV, and Defense

  • Revanth Reddy, the CM of the state, was successful in expanding the industrial base of Telangana.
  • Funding was arranged for rocket construction, UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) design, and aircraft interiors.
  • Jindal Defence added major projects and further established Telangana in the aerospace and defence industry.

Agriculture and Food Processing Grows

The agriculture limb also did remarkably well:

  • Unilever pledged to set up two new manufacturing sites within Telangana.

  • Semi-Urban Manufacturing Zone: Development between the ORR and the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR).
  • Rural Prosperity: Support for agricultural development and food production industries beyond the RRR.

Key Infrastructure Projects Announced

At the three global events: Urban Mobility, Regenerative Spaces, and National Strategies, CM Revanth Reddy stressed that Telangana prioritizes state-of-the-art infrastructure and environmental sustainability.

He stated that significant projects are:

  • Hyderabad metro rail expansion with regional ring rail development.
  • New regional roads and airports.
  • Musi River sustainable rejuvenation.

Global Acclaim for Telangana’s Progress

In Davos, the proactive measures taken by the state and the progress made were praised universally: Telangana was termed ‘irresistible investment destination’ by Dilip Shanghvi, MD of Sun Petrochemicals, because of the favorable business environment and green energy initiatives in the state. Political leaders from all over the world commended the option provided by the state for the ‘China Plus One’ strategy in some of the global supply chains that were set post-COVID.

Approach for Investors from CM Revanth Reddy

CM Revanth Reddy uttered on the forum, “In reality, all the investment and business activity in Telangana already exists. Our emphasis, however, is on generating more opportunities for our people—more jobs, higher earnings, and expanded welfare services.”

He pointed to the CM as a leader of IT and pharma in Telangana and said that the state will now invest in data centers, electric vehicles, food processing, and semiconductors in order to further achieve sustained growth.
